The current building was inaugurated in 1904 under the administration of Mayor Mateo Casco. The funds used for the construction came from a compensation that the railway had to pay for a new train route across the town. There is a clay brick inside the building that belonged to the original premises that housed the Elementary School for Boys, first public school in the province of Buenos Aires, founded in 1821.
